Python in the Kinesis Team

January 20, 2021

We have been using Python at Radius payment solutions for 12 years and have been passionate about the language from the start. Our customer web portal, Velocity, is built using Python and Django and provides the user interface for our 2 million fuel card holders and roughly 200,000 telematics users. The front end is written in React, using GraphQL and REST to talk to the Django application, which makes used of Django Rest Framework along with many other Django libraries.

Our Python engineers often also get involved in the rest of the stack, whether that’s working on deployment pipelines using Terraform, Gitlab and Ansible, or writing front end code in TypeScript and React. We host on AWS using a range of their services, with a Postgres database hosting the application data.

If you’re a Python developer with Django experience, or a developer in another similar technology with a proven track record of picking up new skills on the job, we’d be keen to hear from you. We consider people from all backgrounds and look for a genuine passion for technology and building systems that you can see in use at scale. Our systems, products and people are constantly evolving and growing and we’re looking for people who want to come on the journey with us.

The following video demonstrates some of the key features of Velocity.
