Javascript in the Kinesis Team

January 20, 2021 Kinesis offers a user interface to telematics customers that allows them to manage fleets of up to thousands of vehicles, each with hundreds of journeys per week, each journey containing hundreds if not thousands of position updates. This all requires a lot of user interaction for filtering of data and drilling down to find insights into driver behaviour. It also means we deal with very large volumes of data. Java technologies in the Kinesis Team

January 20, 2021 Java is used extensively in the Kinesis telematics platform. Our core telematics system, used to communicate with over 100,000 vehicles, is written in Java. This is a network server application that communicates to devices over UDP, processing over 100,000 messages per minute. We also make use of Java for our on-boarding systems, using Spring Boot and various other components of the Spring framework to facilitate the ordering, configuration, dispatch and diagnostics of our fleet of trackers. Python in the Kinesis Team

January 20, 2021 We have been using Python at Radius payment solutions for 12 years and have been passionate about the language from the start. Our customer web portal, Velocity, is built using Python and Django and provides the user interface for our 2 million fuel card holders and roughly 200,000 telematics users. The front end is written in React, using GraphQL and REST to talk to the Django application, which makes used of Django Rest Framework along with many other Django libraries. Read Full Post

Data Scientist

May 29, 2019 At Radius, we deal with a number of very large data sets, the largest of which is our detailed telemetry for the vehicles we track. These vehicles cover hundreds of millions of miles per month and we record every significant piece of driver behaviour data we can capture during those journeys, as well as recording the location, speed and heading of the vehicle at regular intervals. This data set has created the need for new tools, practices and processes. View Role
